Magnitude 6.0 earthquake strikes eastern Afghanistan, injuring at least 23
Tremor strikes near Jalalabad, followed by 4.5 aftershock

ISTANBUL (AA) - A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan late Sunday, injuring at least 23 people, according to health officials.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded the quake at 11.47 pm local time (1917GMT), located 27 kilometers (16.7 miles) east-northeast of Jalalabad at a depth of 8 kilometers (5 miles).
The Nangarhar Public Health Directorate reported that the injured were brought to a regional hospital.
A second earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 struck the same area 21 minutes later at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles), according to USGS.
