Magnitude-7.6 earthquake jolts Papua New Guinea

ANKARA (AA) - A magnitude-7.6 earthquake was recorded near Papua New Guinea in the Pacific Ocean, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said Saturday.

There were no reports of casualties or damage from the quake, which struck at a depth of 90 kilometers (56 miles) beneath the surface near the Australian plate, according to USGS.
