Majority of Canadians support reinstatement of death penalty
According to 54% of Research Co. respondents, death penalty should be given to those who commit murder

TORONTO (AA) - According to a Canadian poll, the majority of the public supports the reinstatement of the death penalty.
The Research Co. Respondents to the company's study were highly supportive of reintroducing the death penalty for murderers.
According to 54% of respondents, the death sentence should be given to those who end a person's life through murder.
The province of Alberta sought the reinstatement of the death penalty the most, with 62%, while Quebec province had the least support, with 43%.
The Research Co. According to its president, Mario Canseco, around three-fifths of Canadians aged 55 and up supported the return of the death penalty.
In 1976, Canada officially abolished the death sentence.
According to official records, the last death sentence in Canada was carried out in 1962.
