Man City to face Chelsea on Sunday, leaders need 3 points to clinch league title

ANKARA (AA) - Manchester City are getting closer to win the 2023 English Premier League title as the leaders are in need of three points in the last three matches.

On Sunday, Man City beat Everton 3-0 at Liverpool's Goodison Park to move four points clear at the top of the Premier League.

German midfielder of Turkish descent Ilkay Gundogan scored double for Man City, and Norwegian star Erling Haaland added one goal.

Leaders Manchester City boosted their points to 85 in 35 matches, and they will next host Chelsea on Sunday at Etihad Stadium.

Title contenders Arsenal's hopes faded after the Gunners were stunned by Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 at Emirates Stadium, London, on Sunday.

Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav and Pervis Estupinan were the scorers for the visitors.

Second-place Arsenal have 81 points, and can only reach 87 points at most.

Meanwhile, Southampton were relegated from the Premier League on Saturday after they lost to Fulham 2-0.

Newcastle United and Manchester United have 66 points each to be after Arsenal.

- Barcelona crowned La Liga champions

Barcelona beat Espanyol 4-2 on Sunday to win the 2023 Spanish La Liga title with four matches to go.

Polish star Robert Lewandowski scored twice in the week 34 match while Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde were the other scorers for Barcelona.

Javier Puado and Joselu scored for Espanyol at RCDE Stadium.

Barcelona, with 85 points, are currently 14 points ahead of second-place Real Madrid, winning the title for the first time since 2019 and 27th overall.

Espanyol are in the 19th spot with 31 points.

- Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund in thrilling title race

German Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and second-place Borussia Dortmund are in a relentless race for the title as the league will end in two weeks.

Bayern Munich hammered Schalke 6-0 in a week 32 match at Munich Allianz Arena, with Serge Gnabry scoring twice.

Borussia Dortmund are hot on the heels of Bayern Munich as they beat Borussia Monchengladbach 5-2 at Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park.

Bayern Munich have 68 points in 32 matches, while Borussia Dortmund increased their points to 67 to cling to the title race.

RB Leipzig are third with 60 points.

- French leaders PSG thrash Ajaccio

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Saturday hit Ajaccio 5-0 to cement their lead in the French Ligue 1.

PSG's French superstar Kylian Mbappe scored two goals at Paris' Parc des Princes.

Ajaccio were relegated to the Ligue 2.

Lens beat Reims 2-1 on Friday to be in the second spot in the French league.

PSG have 81 points in 35 matches to be on top of the league. Lens have 75 points to be second and Olympique Marseille are third with 73 points.

- Italian champions Napoli lose at Monza

Napoli, who secured the 2023 Italian Serie A title in previous weeks, lost at Monza 2-0 in a Sunday league match.

Second-place Juventus beat Cremonese 2-0 on Sunday as Nicolo Fagioli and Gleison Bremer scored for the Turin club.

Napoli have 83 points in 35 matches. The Naples team's nearest opponents Juventus have 69 points.

Third-place Inter Milan have 66 points after beating Sassuolo 4-2 on Saturday.
