By Ibrahim Torlak
BATMAN, Turkey (AA) – A martyrs’ cemetery was built in Turkey’s southeastern province of Batman in memory of 10 victims who died in a PKK terror attack, the governorship said on Thursday.
Construction of the cemetery in the central Seki village of Gercus district came with efforts of the governorship, said the district governor Mevlut Sekerci.
The victims of the 1992 attack included a two-month-old baby, children and women.
Sekerci along with the relatives of the martyrs paid a visit to the cemetery and prayed for the fallen.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including many women and children.
