Medipol Basaksehir held to 1-1 draw with Gent in UEFA Conference League

ISTANBUL (AA) - Medipol Basaksehir were held to a 1-1 draw with Gent in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16 on Thursday.

Medipol Basaksehir took an early lead with a 16th-minute goal from Stefano Okaka while Gent leveled the match with Gift Orban in the 35th minute at KAA Gent Stadium.

Another Turkish club, Demir Grup Sivasspor, lost to Fiorentina at Stadio Artemio Franchi as the goal came from Antonin Barak in the 69th minute.

Meanwhile, Sivasspor were down to 10 men after Max-Alain Gradel saw a straight red card in stoppage time.

In the second leg, Medipol Basaksehir will host Gent on March 15, while Demir Grup Sivasspor will host Fiorentina on March 16.
