Milan reach semifinals in Italian Cup with 4-goal triumph over Lazio

French forward Olivier Giroud scores twice in 5 minutes

ANKARA (AA) - AC Milan defeated SS Lazio 4-0 in the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia) quarterfinals on Wednesday.

French forward Olivier Giroud led Milan by scoring twice in five minutes – 41st and 46th minute – at the Giuseppe Meazza in Milan.

The other two goals came from Rafael Leao in the 24th minute and Frank Kessie in the 79th minute.

Milan will take on rivals Inter in the first round of semifinals, the date of which is not disclosed yet.

Other semifinal matches will be determined after the conclusion of the remaining two quarterfinal games scheduled on Thursday: Atalanta vs. Fiorentina and Juventus vs. Sassuolo.

Reigning champions Juventus have bagged a record 14 Coppa Italia titles so far.
