Muscat International Book Fair attracts over 550,000 visitors during 10-day event

Under title 'Cultural Diversity: Enriching Civilizations,' event featured 674 publishing houses from 35 countries

MUSCAT, Oman /ISTANBUL (AA) - The Muscat International Book Fair organizers announced on Saturday that the event drew more than 550,000 visitors over its 10-day run.

The announcement was made during a visual presentation at the fair's 29th edition closing ceremony in Muscat, which was attended by Oman's Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Mohammed bin Saeed bin Mohammed Al Balushi.

The fair, which ran from April 24 to May 3 under the title "Cultural Diversity: Enriching Civilizations," featured 674 publishing houses from 35 countries.

According to the presentation, the fair featured more than 681,000 titles, including over 52,000 new releases. It also hosted 211 cultural events and 155 activities for children.

The closing ceremony included performances by cultural competition winners and the recognition of participants and award recipients.
