N. Irish football boss arrested on drink-driving charge
Arrest comes amid Northern Ireland's World Cup qualifier campaign
ISTANBUL (AA) - Northern Ireland's national football team manager, Michael O'Neill, has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving according to U.K. media on Monday.
Newspaper reports claim O'Neill, 48, was detained near Edinburgh, Scotland on Sunday.
The Irish Football Association in a statement said it was "aware of an alleged drink-driving incident involving Michael O'Neill," but added it would not be commenting further on what was a police matter.
O'Neill is due to appear in court on Oct. 10 -- two days after his side's World Cup qualifier match against Norway.
Northern Ireland is currently second in Group C, five points behind Germany.
