NEW YORK (AA) - The six victims of a fatal school shooting earlier this week in Nashville, Tennessee were honored during a vigil held in the city on Wednesday.
First lady Jill Biden and singer Sheryl Crow were among the hundreds of people who gathered at the candlelight vigil to mourn the three children and three adults who were killed.
President Joe Biden ordered flags at the White House and all federal buildings Monday to be flown at half-staff until sunset on March 31 after the horrific shooting at the Covenant School, a private Christian elementary school.
The heavily armed shooter, 28-year-old Audrey Hale, a former student of the school who identified as a transgender person, was killed during a shootout with a five-member police team that engaged Hale on the second floor of the school, which is associated with a church, authorities said.
