'Netanyahu hasn't decided yet': Al-Qassam replies to Israeli woman inquiring about husband's fate

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - The Hamas group's armed wing on Saturday replied to a request by a former Israeli captive asking for a video to show that her husband in Hamas's captivity in Gaza is still alive.
Al-Qassam Brigades published a video in response to Sharon Cunio's request titled with a phrase that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin "Netanyahu hasn't decided yet."
On Friday, former captive Sharon Cunio sent a video message in the Arabic language, asking Al-Qassam to send a video showing that her husband David is still alive.
The Al-Qassam video showed photos of Sharon and her two twin daughters during their release from Gaza in November 2023 and also photos of her husband David.
"After you left (released from Gaza), the Zionist military pressure increased (on Gaza), your husband is either killed, injured or in good health," the Hamas video message said, adding that "Netanyahu hasn't decided yet."
Mediation efforts led by the US, Egypt, and Qatar to reach a cease-fire in Gaza have so far failed due to Netanyahu’s refusal to halt the war.
Israel holds more than 10,300 Palestinian prisoners, while Hamas is said to be holding around 100 Israeli captives in Gaza. The group also said that dozens of captives had been killed in indiscriminate Israeli airstrikes.
The Israeli army has continued a genocidal war on Gaza that has killed over 46,500 victims, most of them women and children, since Oct. 7, 2023, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.
In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
