New era begins for Anadolu Agency

ANKARA (AA) - Anadolu Agency's 100th Anniversary News Vision Document was presented to employees by the news agency's deputy director-general and editor-in-chief on Thursday.

The document, announced by Metin Mutanoglu, was prepared on the occasion of the centenary of Anadolu Agency, and introduces changes to various aspects of editorial policy including news language, current news formats, diversifying news broadcasting channels and adapting new technological developments.

"On the one hand, we proclaim the voice of Anatolia, on the other hand, we inform the Anatolian people of the latest developments in the world," said Mutanoglu.

Noting that Anadolu Agency has offices in all of Turkey's 81 provinces, seven district offices and 41 points across the globe, he underlined that the number of agency's social media followers and web visitors have risen thanks to the news, videos, photographs and infographics it publishes.

"The number of users of Anadolu Agency's mobile phone application has reached 1.5 million," he added.

Mutanoglu said: "With this vision document, Anadolu Agency aims to become one of the most influential news organizations at the global scale and continue its professional and technological development in the universal journalism race on its 100th anniversary."

According to the document, Anadolu Agency will further concentrate on social media, new trending videos, impactful interviews, mobile applications, podcast news and global breaking news.
