Norway reports oil leak following break-in at disused station
Suspected sabotage caused over 50 tons of oil leak, says grid operator

LONDON (AA) - Tons of oil were found to have leaked following a suspected sabotage at a disused electricity transformer station near the Norwegian capital Oslo, according to media reports on Monday.
On Sunday evening, a break-in at the station in Barum was found, which led to some 50-60 tons of oil leaking, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) reported.
According to Norway's national electricity grid, Statnett, its staff members dealt with large parts of the spilled oil but warned that some has already leaked into Sandvikselva River.
Statnett and Barum Municipality have placed absorbents on the river to soak up the oil.
Meanwhile, the country's fire department used a temporary floating barrier on the river to contain the spill.
Cleaning up efforts, which started on Sunday, are continuing, added the report.
