ISTANBUL (AA) – The foreign ministers of Oman and Saudi Arabia held talks in Muscat to discuss bilateral relations and regional and international developments, Omani media reported on Tuesday.
Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, explored aspects of cooperation between the two nations and efforts to strengthen them, the state news agency ONI said.
Monday’s discussions also addressed the regional and international developments and the Saudi views regarding them, the outlet said.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said the two ministers also co-chaired the third meeting of the Saudi-Omani Cooperation Council.
Bin Farhan praised recent steps aimed at facilitating mutual recognition of rules and certificates of origin, describing them as key to strengthening bilateral trade and deepening economic ties in ways that serve shared interests, the ministry said.
Albusaidi, for his part, highlighted the steady expansion of cooperation across economic, security, cultural, and tourism sectors, alongside close political coordination on regional and international issues, ONI said.
Both ministers emphasized the importance of activating agreed initiatives and joint projects, and reaffirmed their commitment to sustained partnership and integration.
Saudi–Omani relations are rooted in long-standing ties characterized by close political coordination, mutual respect, and expanding economic cooperation.
In recent years, these relations have gained renewed momentum with the establishment of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council in 2021, which serves as a structured framework to deepen collaboration across political, economic, security, cultural, and development fields.
