Overseas voting begins for South Korea’s June 3 presidential election
Over 258,000 eligible voters cast ballots at 223 polling stations across 118 countries during 6-day overseas voting period

ISTANBUL (AA)— Overseas voting for South Korea’s upcoming presidential election began on Tuesday, with 223 polling stations across 118 countries prepared to accommodate over 258,000 eligible voters over the next six days, according to Yonhap News, citing embassy officials.
In Japan, seven polling stations have been established in major cities such as Tokyo, while China hosts 10 stations.
The first vote was cast by a university student at the South Korean Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand.
South Korea will hold a snap presidential election on June 3 due to the Constitutional Court removing former President Yoon Suk Yeol from office.
