KONYA, Turkey (AA) - Pakistani parliament speaker has said all teachers linked to the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) will be expelled from Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters in central Turkey’s Konya province Tuesday, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said 45 out of 108 such teachers had left Pakistan so far.

“The rest of them have approached the court and the court ruled that they could stay in the country. However, our prime minister has given instructions to follow this issue,” he said, adding procedures to deport others were ongoing.

“Our efforts to transfer FETO-linked schools to Turkey is continuing," he added.

Led by U.S.-based Fetullah Gulen, FETO is accused of orchestrating the July 15 coup plot -- which left 249 people martyred and some 2,200 injured -- as well as being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and the judiciary.
