ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA) – Pakistani military accused Indian border forces of killing at least four civilians, including two women during “unprovoked” shelling and firing along the eastern border between the two nuclear-armed countries.
In a statement, Pakistani army’s media-wing -- the Inter Services Public Relations -- said the incident took place in Bini Sulariyan Village near Sialkot’s Charwa Sector.
Pakistani border forces -- Pakistan Rangers -- also responded and targeted the Indian post that allegedly fired mortars on civilian population, it said.
Despite a cease-fire agreement signed in 2003, the two countries frequently blame each other for firing on the Working Boundary and the Line of Control (LOC), a de facto border that divides disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.
