Palestinian death toll from Israeli attack on Jenin rises to 10

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - Israeli attacks on the West Bank city of Jenin have so far killed 10 Palestinians and injured 100 others, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Tuesday.

An Anadolu reporter on the ground quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the Israeli army continued its attacks on the Jenin refugee camp and reinforced its ground forces with further units.

The reporter added that the Israeli military aircraft continues to fly over Jenin amid sounds of explosions from time to time.

Jenin's Deputy Governor Kamal Abu al-Rub told Anadolu that the residents of the camp have started fleeing to safer places amid heavy Israeli bombing and attacks.

He added that the camp's population is around 15,000 and the evacuation is carried out gradually in coordination with relevant bodies.

He said the Palestinian Red Crescent Society has opened its centers and buildings to host the camp's fleeing residents.

"The scene returns us back to the Nakba in 1948," Abu al-Rub said in reference to the forced expulsion of nearly 800,000 Palestinians from their homes in historical Palestine in 1948.
