Palestinian shot dead by Israeli forces in West Bank

NABLUS, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian was killed by Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, according to the Health Ministry.

A ministry statement said Ala’a Nasser, 21, was shot in the head in the town of Deir al-Hatab, east of Nablus.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli forces raided the town and besieged a house, triggering clashes with local residents during which Israeli soldiers used live fire and tear gas canisters.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said two people were injured in the violence. Two reporters for Palestine TV were also hurt, according to the state broadcaster.

There was no comment from the Israeli military on the report.

According to Palestinian figures, more than 140 Palestinians have been killed and hundreds injured by Israeli army fire since the beginning of this year.
