Palestinian shot dead by settler in West Bank

JERUSALEM (AA) - A Palestinian was killed by an Israeli settler in the northern West Bank on Friday, the Israeli army said.

"A Palestinian armed with knives and improvised explosive devices infiltrated the Dorot area farm where the owner of the farm monitored and neutralized him," the army said.

Dorot farm area is a settlement outpost located between the cities of Qalqilya and Salfit.

"The incident occurred during the predawn hours of Friday,” the army added.

The official Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that the Palestinian was shot dead by the settler.

The West Bank has witnessed a significant escalation by the Israeli army and settlers since last year.
