Palestinian vehicles vandalized in 'price tag' attacks
Extremist Jewish settlers though to be behind attack on Palestinian property
JERUSALEM (AA) - Dozens of Palestinian vehicles were vandalized Monday in suspected "price tag" attacks in East Jerusalem and northern Israel, Israeli police said.
Twenty vehicles were attacked along the border between the Ramat Shlomo settlement and Shuafat neighborhood in East Jerusalem, according to a police statement.
“The vehicles had their tires slashed and spray-painted with ‘price tag’ slogans,” police said. The walls of several homes were also marked with graffiti and eight cars had their tires slashed in the Arab-Israeli village of Na’oura.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers painted anti-Arab phrases on the walls.
"Price tag" vandalism is a strategy used by extremist Jewish settlers to attack Palestinians and their property in retaliation for perceived threats to Israeli settlement expansion.
