Panelists discuss Middle East at Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkiye

ANTALYA, Turkiye (AA) - High-level panelists at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum sat down on Saturday to discuss the search for "common ground" in the Middle East.

The foreign ministers of Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, and Austria took their places on the panel to discuss the momentum of change in the region and its potential to overcome historical, ethnic and religious differences.

Pointing to the solidarity that the international community shared on Ukraine amid its war with Russia, Palestine's Riyad al-Maliki said the Palestinians were deprived of this solidarity in the face of the violations they suffer.

He said that the steps taken in support of Ukraine in just the first 10 days of the conflict revealed the hypocrisy and double standards of the international community.

On a recent visit by Israeli President Isaac Herzog to Turkiye earlier in the week, al-Maliki said it made sense for Ankara to have normal ties with Tel Aviv

The three-day high-level forum in the resort city of Antalya has brought together participants from 75 countries, including 17 heads of state, 80 government ministers, and 39 representatives of international organizations. Anadolu Agency is the event's global communications partner.
