Poland reiterates calls for continued pressure on Russia ahead of Trump-Zelenskyy talks
'Pressure must be exerted on the aggressor, not the victim,' Poland's Foreign Minister Sikorski says following 'Coalition of the Willing' meeting

WARSAW (AA) – Poland vowed on Sunday to continue supporting Ukraine's stance in the war against Russia, saying pressure should be put on "the aggressor, not the victim."
"Pressure must be exerted on the aggressor, not the victim," Poland's Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said in a statement on the US social media company X following a 'Coalition of the Willing' online meeting.
Sikorski has made it clear that Poland's support for Ukraine remains unchanged, and his statement signals that Warsaw will not accept concessions at the expense of Ukraine's territory, despite US President Donald Trump's previous statements indicating that Kyiv would not be able to reclaim areas taken over by Russia during the war that began in February 2022.
The "Coalition of the Willing," founded in March on the initiative of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, is a platform for international cooperation involving 33 countries, with the primary goal of developing a comprehensive plan of support for Ukraine.
Ursula von der Leyen and other leading European politicians attended a videoconference to coordinate positions ahead of meetings with the US and Ukrainian presidents.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy will travel to Washington, DC, to meet with Trump on Monday, and their meeting will also be attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, von der Leyen, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
