Police report 'multiple victims' from shooting at Michigan church

ISTANBUL (AA) – An unknown gunman opened fire at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, on Sunday, with police confirming “multiple victims” of the shooter, who was also gunned down.

"There has been an active shooter at the church of Latter Day Saints on McCandlish Rd. There are multiple victims and the shooter is down," Grand Blanc Township Police Department said in a statement.

Police said there is "no threat to the public at this time," but warned the "church is actively on fire."

It urged residents to avoid the area.

There is no immediate information on the number of casualties and the motive of the shooter.
