Powerful cyclonic storm 'Biparjoy' likely to hit coasts of India, Pakistan in next 2 days

ISTANBUL (AA) – Powerful cyclonic storm "Biparjoy" is moving across the Arabian Sea and is expected to hit the coasts of India and Pakistan in the next two days.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the very severe cyclonic storm (VSCS) will move north-northwestwards over the next 36 hours.

While Pakistani meteorological authorities issued a warning ahead of the "Biparjoy" storm on Friday, urging fishermen not to venture out into the open sea from Monday onwards.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said in a statement that the storm "slowly tracked in north-northeast direction during past 12 hours and is now 1120 km (696 miles) south of Karachi, the capital of southern Sindh province.”
