UTRECHT / ISTANBUL (AA) - A protest took place in the Dutch city of Utrecht on Sunday, condemning human rights violations in regions controlled by the terrorist group PKK/YPG in Syria.
Syrians living in the Netherlands gathered to protest the terrorist organization PKK/YPG’s violations against civilians, forced displacements, and policies aimed at changing the region’s demographic structure.
During the protest that lasted for around two hours, participants called for the safe and dignified return of Syrians to their homeland, the construction of a country free from terrorism and division, and justice for civilians in northeastern Syria.
They also urged the international community not to remain silent in the face of the human rights violations in the region.
In its 40-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, infants and the elderly. The PKK/YPG is the PKK’s Syrian branch.
