Putin offers condolences to Sisi over deadly fire at Egyptian church

MOSCOW (AA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered condolences to his Egyptian counterpart Abdelfattah al-Sisi over Sunday's deadly fire at a church near Cairo.

"I would like to express my sincere condolences over the tragic consequences of the fire that occurred at the Abu SefeinChurch in Giza. We share the grief of the relatives and friends of the victims and hope for the speedy recovery of all the injured," Putin said in a telegram on Monday.

At least 41 people were killed and 14 others injured in the fire that erupted at the Abu Sefein Church in Giza, Greater Cairo during a morning mass.
