Qatari emir receives Turkey’s Erdogan in Doha

DOHA, Qatar (AA) - Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani welcomed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday at an official reception in Doha.

The reception ceremony took place at Doha’s Amiri Diwan government complex.

Erdogan arrived in Doha late Tuesday for political and economic talks with Qatari officials and discussions on recent regional and international developments.

The Turkish president was accompanied by a delegation including Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu; Energy and Natural Resources Minister Berat Albayrak; Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci; National Defense Minister Fikri Isik; and National Intelligence Agency chief Hakan Fidan.

Erdogan, whose days-long tour of the Gulf also brought him to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia earlier this week, is expected to return to Turkey from Qatar later on Wednesday.
