RABAT (AA) - Moroccan Public Prosecution authorities on Thursday referred seven suspects to trial over the recent murder of two Scandinavian tourists.
"Seven individuals suspected of having been involved in the murder of the two tourists, including a Swiss national who also holds Spanish citizenship, have been referred to the investigating judge,” Moroccan Royal Prosecutor-General Al-Hassan Daki said in a statement.
Prosecutors want the seven suspects to be investigated for alleged involvement in a "terrorist act”.
Moroccan authorities recently referred 15 other suspects to court after charging them in the same case.
On Dec. 17, the dead bodies of two female tourists -- one Norwegian and one Danish -- were found near Toubkal Mountain in Morocco’s Al-Haouz Province.
