Operators cancel Tokyo-based bullet trains after rail services suspended in western Japan

ISTANBUL (AA) – Normal life was disrupted across central Japan on Wednesday as heavy rains hit the bullet train services, local media reported.
The rains were brought by Typhoon Lan, which made a landfall in the country on Tuesday.
Japan's railway authorities canceled bullet train services between the capital Tokyo and other cities, including Yokohama, Nagoya, and Osaka, as rains pounded the region, Tokyo-based Kyodo News said.
Rail services in western Japan were also canceled after the landfall of Typhoon Lan.
The weather department has predicted heavy rainfall in coming few days.
The typhoon moved northward over the Sea of Japan on Wednesday, while as at least 49 people were injured due to disruptions created by the strong storm in the country.
Japan has one of the most advanced railway systems in the world, and millions of citizens use these services every day.
