BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) – Rescuers from Kosovo saved four people during search operations in Türkiye’s quake-hit disaster zones, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said on Tuesday.

“Their hard work and iron-clad determination saved four people, giving hope in the wake of despair, and life in the midst of devastating loss,” he said at a ceremony held in the capital Pristina to welcome back the 39-member team.

“For this, they have the eternal thanks of our Republic,” said Kurti, who was joined at the event by top officials, including Defense Minister Armend Mehaj and Turkish Ambassador Sabri Tunc Angili.

The team saved a two-year-old girl and her mother in Hatay on Feb. 8, followed by a 45-year-old man and a 13-year-old girl in the same province on Feb. 12.

The crew included military and civilian specialists in urban search and rescue, as well as emergency medical aid teams and search dogs.
