ANKARA (AA) - South Korea's special prosecutor on Thursday raided the residence of former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo on suspicion of his involvement in the Dec. 3 botched martial law attempt by ex-President Yoon Suk Yeol, Yonhap news reported.

Special prosecutor Cho Eun-suk's team searched Han's residence in the central Seoul district of Jongno in the morning.

Han is suspected of participating in or at least assisting Yoon's declaration of martial law.

The special counsel also accuses Han of being an accomplice in the drafting and destruction of a revised version of the martial law decree.

Testifying at the National Assembly in February, Han said he was not aware of the martial law decree until the Cabinet meeting lifted the martial law on Dec. 4 and later realized it was in the back pocket of his suit.

However, the prosecutor is said to have obtained surveillance camera footage from the presidential office that shows Han reviewing martial law documents.

The special counsel plans to summon Han again after completing its analysis of the seized materials.
