MOSCOW (AA) - Russia on Tuesday said its forces have seized another village in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region.
According to a statement from the Defense Ministry, the Southern Group of forces took control of the settlement of Sukha Balka.
The ministry also reported carrying out coordinated strikes on Ukrainian drone production facilities, as well as on temporary positions of Ukrainian armed units and foreign fighters in 141 locations.
“All designated targets were hit. The objective of the strike was achieved,” the ministry said.
The statement said that Russian air defense systems also intercepted three French-made JDAM-guided bombs, a US-made HIMARS rocket, and 99 drones over the past 24 hours.
The ministry claims that since 2022 Russian forces have destroyed 661 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 53,034 drones, 604 air defense systems, 22,985 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,546 multiple rocket launch systems, and 34,416 military vehicles.
Ukraine did not immediately respond to the claims, and independent verification remains difficult due to the ongoing conflict.
