Russia says embassy opening in Juba to boost ties with South Sudan
Moscow highlights plans for deeper trade, humanitarian and diplomatic engagement

ISTANBUL (AA) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov on Monday received South Sudanese Ambassador Chola Tong Mayai Djanga in Moscow to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The meeting, held at the ambassador’s request, focused on boosting Russia–South Sudan relations in trade, economic, and humanitarian fields.
Bogdanov, who also serves as the Russian president's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, stated that the upcoming opening of the Russian Embassy in Juba is expected to "significantly strengthen friendly ties" between the two countries.
Both sides confirmed their intention to deepen coordination in foreign policy, particularly at the UN and other multilateral platforms.
