Russian, Indian foreign ministers vow to promote ‘fair multipolar system of interstate relations’
Sergey Lavrov, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar hold talks on sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Goa

MOSCOW (AA) - Russian and Indian foreign ministers agreed on Thursday to continue following the course of building a “fair multipolar system of interstate relations.”
Russia’s Sergey Lavrov and India’s Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Goa to discuss matters pertaining to bilateral relations, regional and global affairs, a Russian Foreign Ministry statement said.
“The parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening coordination activities to develop common approaches as part of interaction at the most important international platforms, including the SCO, BRICS, the UN and the G20,” the statement said.
Following the meeting, Jaishankar wrote on Twitter that he “appreciated” Russia’s support for India’s SCO presidency and that they had a “comprehensive review of our bilateral, global and multilateral cooperation.”
