Russian soldier dies of injuries in Syrian war
Russian Defense Ministry says soldier awarded Order of Valor
MOSCOW (AA) – A Russian soldier who was injured in the war in Syria, died at a hospital in Moscow, that country’s Defense Ministry said late Thursday.
Junior sergeant Mikhail Shirokopoyas was fighting in Aleppo in early May but succumbed to his injuries June 7.
He was posthumously awarded the Order of Valor and body was buried in the Amur region of Russia.
