Scores killed as Afghan police convoy hit by blasts
– No official death toll but Afghan police officials say at least 30 killed by Taliban suicide bombers

KABUL, Afghanistan (AA) – Dozens of people have been killed in the Afghan capital Kabul after two Taliban suicide bombers targeted an Afghan police convoy on Thursday.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed the attack but authorities have not released an official death toll. Police officials, who were not permitted to speak to the media, told Anadolu Agency that at least 30 were killed in the attack while the Taliban claimed they killed 27.
The convoy carrying around 150 newly-graduated trainee officers was travelling from the police academy in central Maidan Wardak province to Kabul for the approaching Eid al-Fitr holiday, which falls at the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
Just over a week ago, another bombing in Kabul killed 14 Nepali security guards working for the Canadian embassy.
