SDF fulfilling March 10 deal with Syria important, says President Erdogan

ISTANBUL (AA) - Meeting with his Syrian counterpart, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday highlighted the importance of preserving Syria's unity and solidarity as well as the SDF fulfilling its deal with Damascus made on March 10.

Meeting on the margins of an extraordinary Organization of Islamic Cooperation-Arab League summit in Qatar, Erdogan said that Ankara's support to Damascus will continue and called President Ahmad al-Sharaa's attendance at this year’s UN General Assembly "historically significant."

Erdogan also stated that efforts are being made to develop bilateral relations.

Türkiye is also following steps to bring together different groups in Syria, he said.
