KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - Pakistan's army on Sunday said it killed at least 12 militants in a security operation in the country's southwestern Balochistan province.
The operation was carried out on Saturday in Kalat district of the province, which borders neighboring Afghanistan and Iran, the military said in a statement.
"During the conduct of operation, own forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense fire exchange, twelve Indian sponsored terrorists were sent to hell," the statement added.
New Delhi did not react to the allegation till the filing of this report.
There was no word about the affiliation of the militants, but the outlawed Tehreek-Taliban Pakistan and Baloch separatists have long been active in the mineral-rich province.
