BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - Serbia continued Saturday to send additional aid materials to quake-hit Türkiye.

In-kind donations prepared by the government were sent to Türkiye via a Turkish Airlines (THY) cargo plane from Nikola Tesla Airport in the nation’s capital of Belgrade.

It is the second batch of the government's aid package consisting of materials such as tents, blankets, heaters, kitchen sets and generators.

The Serbian government has donated €2 million ($2.12 million) to victims in Türkiye, with a large amount also donated by the public on trucks and airplanes.

More than 45,000 people died in Türkiye in the 7.7- and 7.6-magnitude earthquakes on Feb. 6.

The earthquakes, which were centered in the province of Kahramanmaras, affected more than 13 million people across 11 provinces, including Hatay, Adana, Gaziantep, Diyarbakir, Adiyaman, Malatya, Kilis, Osmaniye, Elazig and Sanliurfa.

In neighboring Syria, the death toll has climbed above 5,800.
