JERUSALEM (AA) - An Israeli was killed on Friday in a stabbing incident in the central coastal city of Herzliya, with the police quickly arresting a suspect in connection with the attack.
According to Israeli Army Radio, an Israeli woman was pronounced dead after sustaining critical wounds in the stabbing.
Earlier Friday, Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency and ambulance service, said it received a report of a woman who was stabbed in Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv, with their paramedics providing medical treatment at the scene.
The Israeli police later confirmed that the stabbing had a "nationalistic" motive, based on their investigation into the incident.
In a statement, the police said they had "located the suspect and arrested him," though they did not give his identity.
Tensions have escalated across the Palestinian territories since Israel in October 2023 launched a deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip which has killed over 45,000 Palestinians and left most of the strip a ruin.
