10 killed in metro blast in St. Petersburg, Russia

Russian president has been informed about blast, says Kremlin spokesman

ANKARA (AA) - At least 10 people were killed Monday in an explosion that hit a metro station in St. Petersburg, Russia, local media reported.

According to preliminary reports, 10 people died during the blast, Russian news agency TASS said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that President Vladimir Putin has been told of the explosion.

"Yes, the president was informed about this," Peskov was quoted as saying by TASS.
