ANKARA (AA) – At least 16 suspects were arrested Sunday for their links to the PKK terrorist group in operations in southeastern Turkey.
Police arrested 16 PKK suspects in simultaneous raids in several districts of the Sirnak province, the governor’s office said in a statement.
Considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the EU, and the U.S, the PKK has killed thousands of civilians and security personnel since 1984, including over 1,200 in the last two years alone.
