2 Burundi missing teens in Canada after US competition

Police say foul play not suspected in disappearance of 4 other missing members of national robotics team

WASHINGTON (AA) - Two teen on Burundi's national robotics team were last seen crossing the U.S. border into Canada, this city’s police department confirmed Thursday.

The teens were taking part in an international robotics competition with four teammates in the U.S. capital before going missing Tuesday, shortly after the contest's closing ceremony.

Police identified the two who fled to Canada as Don Ingabire, 16, and Audrey Mwamikazi, 17.

In all, six teammates were reported missing Wednesday, including Nice Munezero, 17, Kevin Sabumukiza, 17, Richard Irakoze, 18 and Aristide Irambona, 18.

Foul play is not suspected in their disappearances.
