KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - At least two people were killed and another 15 injured in an explosion involving a tugboat and a fuel-carrying tanker in Indonesia's East Java province on Thursday.
The incident occurred near Lamongan, a coastal town in the north of East Java, Ipda M. Hamzaid, a spokesperson for the Lamongan police told local media.
A preliminary report indicates that the incident occurred when the tanker was transferring diesel fuel to the tugboat.
The tugboat and the fuel tanker caught fire following the explosion.
Hamzaid said that all individuals on board were evacuated, with the two fatalities sent to a nearby hospital for further identification.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, he added.
