2 PKK terrorists killed in operation in eastern Turkey

Terrorists preparing attack killed by Turkish security forces

VAN, Turkey (AA) – Two PKK terrorists were killed by Turkish security forces Thursday in the eastern province of Van, authorities told Anadolu Agency.

Turkish police launched an operation after receiving information about the terrorists who were preparing an attack in the Ipekyolu district.

The two terrorists, who were at their home, were initially warned by security forces to surrender but opened fire and subsequently killed in a gunfight, according to police sources.

The PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU – resumed its decades-old armed campaign last July against the Turkish state. More than 600 security personnel have since been martyred and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists killed.
