ANKARA (AA) - Two PKK terrorists were “neutralized” on Wednesday in southeastern Turkey’s Sirnak province, the military said.
According to a Turkish General Staff statement, the terrorists were "neutralized" in a counterterrorism operation carried out in Sirnak’s Uludere district.
The terrorists were preparing to carry out an attack against Turkish military bases in the region, the statement added.
Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" to imply the terrorists in question were captured or killed.
The statement added a suspected foreign Daesh terrorist was apprehended in the Harran district of Sanliurfa province.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its armed campaign in July 2015 and since then has been responsible for the deaths of around 1,100 security personnel and civilians, including women and children.
