BEIJING (AA) – A long-distance bus has careened off an expressway in north China and landed in a water-filled ditch, killing 26 of the 30 people on board.
State news agency Xinhua reported Saturday that just a ticket seller, a co-driver and two passengers had survived after the bus broke the guardrail on the Tianjin-Jixian expressway, around 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Beijing.
Rescue workers rushed to the site of the incident and used a large crane to lift the wreckage from the water.
