3 dead in Greek boat collision

With 20 tourists on board, one boat crashes into another in the Saronic Gulf

ATHENS (AA) - Three people died and another three were injured when a boat carrying around 20 people crashed into a speedboat near the island of Aegina in the Saronic Gulf on Tuesday.


According to preliminary reports, the boat departed from Perdika, Greece with 20 tourists on board and its destination was the islet of Moni.


The Coast Guard and fishing boats as well as other speedboats rushed to the area, where the three dead bodies were recovered and another three people were seriously injured.


An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the deadly accident.
