WASHINGTON (AA) - Three people were killed early Tuesday morning after a shooting in the US state of Washington, with the suspect remaining on the run, according to police.

The shooting took place at the Circle K at around 3.30 am local time (0830 GMT) in Yakima. The suspect allegedly fired into a car, and fled the area, Yakima Police Chief Matt Murray told reporters.

The car stolen by the suspect is believed to be a gray or silver Chrysler sedan.

Yakima Police Department released the suspected gunman's photos on its Facebook account.

The police chief said there is a fourth victim of the shooting, possibly the person who was carjacked, whose condition remains unknown.

“We don't have a motive, we don't know why,” Murray said about the shooting, adding that they will do “everything we can to locate and apprehend that person and keep the public informed”.
